About me

Hi! I'm Sally, a digital marketer based in Minneapolis who loves turning ideas into content people actually engage with.

I've worked across agency and in-house, with my experience spanning email, content creation (graphics, short-form, blogs), web, and local SEO management.

I'm at my best when creativity and data meet. I love writing copy and designing graphics, but I also love digging into the results to see what's working and what we can try next.

Outside of work, you can find me at home with my cats or traveling to the nearest Harry Styles concert!

The ask

Get the word out and fill seats for a Bad Bad Hats concert hosted by the Whole Music Club at the University of Minnesota.

What I did

As lead marketing assistant, I owned the campaign end to end: planning paid and organic social, building the event landing page, and creating the promotional email.

What I noticed

The event was on campus, but the band’s core fans skew older than the student body. Shifting paid targeting toward the band’s existing fanbase, rather than students alone, is what drove results.

Outcome
115tickets purchased
79,563impressions
464engagements

Instagram post of the Labubu mascot Lagugu in a Minnesota Gophers sweater on campus, 1,576 likes

The assignment

The big reveal of SUA’s newest team member, Lagugu. Giving him a proper introduction on our feed made the posts starring Lagugu that followed feel natural.

"Something Gold is coming..." teaser post showing a Labubu silhouette on a maroon and gold background

The assignment

Build anticipation before Lagugu’s reveal. A very recognizable silhouette paired with University branding got followers guessing, and the hype made the reveal even more exciting.

Meme-style post of four student staffers with the caption "plz take our jobs"

The assignment

Everyone in this post was graduating, and the team needed to hire new students. I wanted something authentic that would resonate with other students, so rather than reading like an ad, it reads like a joke between friends.

The assignment

The Student Center on the St. Paul campus flew under the radar for students with no reason to leave Minneapolis. Using the viral “romanticizing” trend, I showed them what they might be missing out on.

What I did
I managed the Student Unions & Activities social channels for two years, creating and publishing content across Instagram, TikTok, X, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
Why these worked
Students engaged most when we jumped on trends quickly, even if that meant buying a Labubu for the account. Content that felt authentic and unpolished consistently outperformed anything that read as an ad, so I leaned into that voice.

A weekly newsletter for 40,000 students

Audience
University of Minnesota students
Goal
Create a weekly newsletter to inform and engage students with the University’s student union events.
WHAT I LEARNED
I rebuilt our templates to meet the University’s digital accessibility standards, with clear heading structure, descriptive alt text, and readable color contrast, so every student could use the newsletter. I also ran A/B tests on subject lines and content to learn what resonated with students and refined each issue based on the results.

Designing for sensitive topics means keeping messages clear, calm, and on-brand.

Client: 211 Big Bend

Awareness campaign · Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn · Designed in Canva

A Tallahassee nonprofit connecting people with 24/7 crisis support and community resources. I designed awareness graphics to help more people in the region know where to turn when they need help.

Client: DISC Village

Awareness campaign · Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn · Designed in Canva

A North Florida nonprofit providing substance use and mental health treatment. I created awareness graphics that share their services in a clear, approachable way, including a series on Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) to help reduce stigma and inform people about their treatment options.
